How Often Do You Think About Tire Inflation When You Drive?

Posted by Robert  Published in Tires (General)

Probably nothing you can perform yourself with regard to vehicle safety is more important than maintaining proper tire inflation. Not only does it provide the best ride and handling, but it significantly slows down tread wear which is crucial to safe driving.

Beyond safety concerns, correct tire inflation assures that you are getting the best fuel economy for your vehicle. In this era of surging prices at the pump, it's only prudent to shop for the best fuel prices. Regular checking of tire pressure can nicely lighten the pain you're experiencing at the pump.

It's a sad truth, however, that studies have shown almost no one drives with correctly inflated tires. Usually, tires are under-inflated. It's been estimated that the average American driver, driving with the right tire inflation, can save over $400 annually.

If this is not enough of an incentive, think of the reduction in air pollution, especially carbon dioxide emissions. If everyone throughout the world paid attention to their tire pressure, we could easily slow or reverse global damage to the environment.

Buy a tire pressure guage, learn all about your tires and get to that air pump regularly.
